install dialup networking
In the event that your Windows 95/98 computer does not have Dialup Networking installed please follow the tutorial to install this software.
NOTE: You will need the Windows 95 or 98 installation CD to proceed. If you do not have this CD this tutorial will not work.
- Click Start then Settings then Control Panel
- Double click on Add/Remove Programs
- Click the Windows Setup tab
- Highlight Communications
- If it is unticked, then tick the box next to it
- Then click Details
- Ensure that Dial-up Networking is ticked
- You might want to untick any programs that you are not using
- You can install Hyper Terminal, which is useful for testing your modem and connection
- Click OK to continue
- Click OK to start installing files
- You might be asked for the Windows CD, insert it into your CD-ROM and click OK
- Files will be copied to your computer and you will be asked to reboot
- Please ensure that you reboot your computer before continuing
This will have now installed Dialup Networking for your computer.
